You can also tell the designer the elements that you wouldn’t want in your own home. Try to be as specific as possible, but be open to the designer’s recommendations too.

Start With an Item That Matters to You

It’s possible you don’t have any ideas and you don’t know where to begin. What you can do is start with an object that you want to incorporate into the room you’re remodeling, such as an antique chandelier or a favorite piece of furniture. Tell your designer about that item or, better yet, show it to them so you can both work on a suitable design.
