Holiday Crunch Time: 8 Quick Bathroom Upgrades

If you’re one of the many homeowners who feel your bathroom is in need of a facelift before holiday guests arrive, have no fear! You may not have enough time for a full-on bathroom restoration, but there are still a lot of things you can do to add style and character to one of the most-used rooms in your house.

Holiday Crunch Time: 8 Quick Bathroom Upgrades

How to Refresh Your Bathroom in a Snap

  • Get a new paint job. A coat of (mildew-resistant) paint can go a long way toward making your bathroom look brand new.

  • Replace faucets and shower fixtures. Coordinate your metals and styles to tie everything together and set the tone for the rest of the bathroom.

  • Upgrade hardware. Installing coordinating cabinet and drawer pulls, towel bars and toilet paper holders is a quick fix that will make your bathroom look put-together.

  • Do a vanity makeover. Consider replacing your countertop and/or sink, refinishing cabinets or even just giving your vanity a quick paint job.

  • Install a towel warmer. Few things feel better in the winter months than a warm towel after you’re fresh out of the shower!

  • Add interesting storage. Whether it’s a quirky shelf or rustic baskets, choose storage that does double-duty as bathroom décor.

  • Update textiles. Freshen up your bathroom by bringing in new towels, floor mats and shower curtains.

  • Bring in some plants. Potted plants make for a lovely touch. Choose species that thrive in humidity and under artificial light, like aloes, ferns and pothos plants.
