Red Flower Master Bath

After hiring us to remodel their kitchen several years ago, this couple contacted us again to work on their master bathroom. Our finished remodel provided a more accessible therapeutic whirlpool tub, an improved shower, better light, more privacy, and updated finishes with a soothing background of unique neutral textures and accents of bright color.

The general layout of the master bath functioned well for this couple, and they wanted to preserve the in-floor heating originally installed under ceramic tile, so it made sense to work within the existing room layout. We carefully removed the existing tile without damaging the in-floor heating system and installed new larger format tile. The new textured laminate cabinets, with improved storage functionality, again follow the angle of the wall and culminate with the relocated make-up counter for the wife. A double-wide trough sink for them to use together is mounted under the quartz counter. Dated and disorienting full wall mirrors and lighting have been replaced with spare and functional mirrored and lighted medicine cabinets for a more intimate grooming experience. We added cabinet storage to the toilet room and enlarged and improved storage in the new linen cabinet. The old open walk-in shower was enlarged and enclosed, faced with resin panel walls, and refitted with a new complete shower tower system, grab bar, and fold-down seat. An added glass shower door and side panel brings in natural light. The corner tub was a pain point for them, and after showing them several possible therapeutic tub choices, we replaced it with a more accessible whirlpool tub that fits their personal therapeutic needs. To maximize natural light while preserving privacy, we glazed the bottom two thirds of the windows above the tub. They celebrate their love of color by bringing in rich red accents in accessories that pop against the unique neutral textures of the bathroom finishes. We completed most of the work while they were travelling so they came home to a nice surprise! They now marvel how the bathroom feels brighter, more open and larger. They appreciate the feel and functionality of the new shower space and shower system, and value the new whirlpool’s provisions for meeting their therapy needs.
