St. Louis Park - Remodeling Case Studies

Kitchen on the Bay

Project Name
Kitchen on the Bay
Project Summary
This couple had been gradually updating their home on a Lake Minnetonka bay, leaving the kitchen for last. The old traditional U-shaped kitchen was functional for only one cook and left a lot of wasted space. They wanted to turn it into a multi-purpose gathering space for family and friends, with a layout comfortable for both of them to cook together, and a focus on the view.
Project Story
The wife had been thinking about her kitchen wish list since they moved into the home in 2012, so she knew what she wanted. We worked with her to include all those details into the plan, and then transformed the old dark and dated kitchen into a light and modern chef’s kitchen with a new open layout and luxury finishes. A large new island, incorporating a built-in dining table and a breakfast bar, creates spaces for gathering. Quartz countertops complement custom cabinets, and a porcelain stoneware slab closely matching the fireplace cladding was selected for installation at the range backsplash. It is truly the heart of the home, with the focus on sweeping views of the bay and glorious sunrises. SEE THE TRANSFORMATION ILLUSTRATED IN THESE BEFORE AND AFTER PHOTOS:                                       HERE ARE SOME OF THE DETAILS INCORPORATED INTO THE PLAN:

Why DreamMaker
The husband was a fellow NARI member and knew of our reputation, and invited us over to view the kitchen and hear their initial thoughts and plans. The couple was convinced that we were all on the same page and able to collaborate with them to bring their dream kitchen to life.
Customer Testimonials
The wife, who works in the tech world and is very detailed-oriented, is exceptionally happy with how we interpreted her initial vision and tweaked her ideas, which she had refined over many years leading up to the remodel. She is especially pleased with her new appliances and her cabinet interior “gadgets” that make her kitchen work easy and fun.
