The DreamMaker Process: From Conception to Completion

A home renovation is quite an undertaking, whether you’re remodeling your entire house or just one room. If you’ve never undergone a remodel, you may be wondering what, exactly, you can expect. You likely have heard plenty of horror stories about home renovations and you may have some reservations. Rest assured, DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen of St. Louis Park has the whole process down to a science.

The DreamMaker Process: From Conception to Completion

Here we explain our process in seven simple steps.

Step One: Meet with a Designer

Our design center is the setting for your initial meeting with your designer, who will listen carefully to your goals for your remodel. Bring in some photos of the space and any sketches or inspiration you have to help your designer understand what it is you’re dreaming of, from a transitional kitchen remodel to a closet makeover. After this meeting, your designer will schedule a survey and design review meeting at your home.

Step Two: The Home Survey

Your designer will arrive at your home on time, ready to take measurements and photographs and inspect for any electrical, plumbing or structural issues that will need to be addressed. The designer will get as much information as possible to enable us to provide you with a detailed initial estimate. After the home survey, a design review meeting will be scheduled.

Step Three: The Design Review

The design review phase is where we show you the designs we’ve drafted for you. Along with the designs, we’ll provide you with a few kitchen remodeling estimates to give you a good idea of the final costs. After some exchange of ideas, we’ll present you with a final design that incorporates all aspects of your vision into the space.

Step Four: Signing the Contract

We provide you with a detailed contract that clearly sets forth our expectations for the project. The contract will include information about when the project will start, how long it will take and how much it will cost. Copies of all of the associated drawings and documents will be included in the contract.

Step Five: The Pre-Start Conference

Once the contract is signed and the formalized plans are in place, you’ll meet with the person who will become your personal project manager throughout the duration of the remodel. During this initial meeting with your project manager, you’ll review the schedule and the construction and installation processes.

Step Six: We Make Your Dreams Come True

Step six is where the magic happens! We take our promises very seriously, and so our work schedule will align with what’s in the contract. During construction, your project manager will stay in contact with you to ensure things are going smoothly. The project manager will coordinate any outside contractors and address any concerns or questions you have during the project.

Step Seven: Enjoy Your New Rooms

Once we’re done and everything is cleaned up, we’ll close the front door behind us and let you get to know your new space. Our goal is to get you to this moment with minimal disruption to your life and maximum efficiency in terms of time and cost.
