Orland Park - Our History

How it all began...

We are Glen and Denise Borkowski, the owners of DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen of Southwest Suburban Chicagoland, a subsidiary of Kraftwerks Remodeling, Inc. We grew up in Chicago and the southwest suburbs. Glen received his bachelor’s degree in communications from Bradley University in Peoria and completed a graduate program at University of Illinois-Chicago where he received his Illinois Teaching Certification. Denise received her bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in education from Northeastern Illinois University and Chicago State University, respectively. While Denise had a 30-year career in education in Burbank, Ill.; Glen taught for several years in the southwest suburbs until deciding to leave teaching and devote himself to the pursuit of his own remodeling business. Glen has more than 30 years of experience in the remodeling field, specializing in interior residential remodeling. Our dream always has been to be involved with a company that set lofty goals, to produce a very high quality of work while simultaneously providing the customer with excellent service and value. In 1991, Glen gave birth to his dream when he founded Kraftwerks Remodeling, Inc. In 1996, he earned the Certified Graduate Remodelor (CGR) designation from the National Association of Home Builders which focuses on developing business acumen. It is the highest designation obtainable in the remodeling industry. In 2002, Glen earned the Certified Aging in Place (CAPS) designation. The coursework involves specific training in making home modifications so that anyone – regardless of age, ability or mobility level can remain in their home and live safely, comfortably and independently. Fewer than 5 percent of all remodelers in the country have achieved these designations. In 2007, we were contacted by DreamMaker Bath and Kitchen, a nationwide company. After months of research, we decided DreamMaker was the kind of company that exemplified the commitment and values that had long been a part of the Kraftwerks’ business ethic. We completed business training in 2008 and have been pleased to be members of the DreamMaker family ever since. Glen speaks regularly at home shows, professional conferences and public libraries. The Power Point presentations are titled “How Smart Consumers Select a Remodeling Contractor” and “Where Do You Want to Spend Your Golden Years? The Concept of Aging In Place”. DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen is also very active in our community. As a member of the President’s Club for Habitat for Humanity, Glen has organized small groups that volunteer on building and rehabilitation projects that help provide a good and decent place to live for families that otherwise wouldn’t be able to enjoy what most of us would take for granted. Glen recently was recognized with a DreamMaker Personal Achievement Award for 2013 and Denise was named the DreamMaker 2013 Woman of the Year. We welcome you to call us at (708) 429-6670 to make an appointment at our design center at 15645 S. 71st Court, Orland Park 60462. --Glen and Denise Borkowski, owners DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen of Orland Park
