Classic Transitional

Project Name
Classic Transitional
Project Summary
This large traditional kitchen was equipped with all the best things from the 90’s, but the homeowner was ready for an update. Gold oak cabinets, fluorescent lights, hanging barstools, and tile countertops were among the list of things that needed to go. The general layout of this kitchen didn’t change much, but some modern touches and innovative design made a huge difference in the beauty and functionality of the kitchen. A mixture of wood and clean white cabinets allowed for this kitchen to look modern, but with a warm and cozy classic feel.
Project Story
The problems:
  • Built-in desk was no longer useful, and thehomeowner just felt it was a junk collector.
  • Corner pantry is bulky and the storage inside isawkward.
  • Color palette with the gold oak was very dated .
  • Fluorescent lights are harsh and inefficient.
  • Cabinet style was a little too traditional with thedecorative arches.
  • Outdated island with hanging barstools and raisedfootrest worked well when they had little kids, but itwas time for a better and more stylish solution.
  • Tile countertops are unsanitary and difficult to cleanand cook on.
  • Flooring was still in decent shape but needed to berefinished and updated in stain color.
