6 Ways to Keep Your Home Clean During Renovations

When you’re having a home remodeling project done, one of the things that you can expect is that it’ll generate some mess around your home. However, our team members will do everything they can to keep your home clean as they work. Here are the six ways we do this during major renovations:

  1. Keep Windows Open – Leaving some of your windows open not only ensures adequate ventilation, it also gives dust a way out so it doesn’t accumulate as much while work is underway.
  2. Create Paths – If renovation work will be done in an inner room in your home, we will create a path for travel. That way, workers won’t be tracking mud and dust throughout your home as they do their jobs. This further prevents the spread of dirt and dust around your home.
  3. Remove Furniture – Before any work begins, we encourage you to remove as much furniture as possible from the area of your home that needs renovations. This not only prevents accidental damage to furniture but can also facilitate renovation work by giving workers enough space to move around.
  4. Use Plastic Covers – If there is any heavy furniture in the work area that can’t be removed while our remodeling contractors do their work, we can cover it with tarping to prevent damage. Once your furniture is covered with tarps, our contractors can go about their work without having to worry about damaging your things.
  5. Do Daily Cleanups – Our contractors clean up after themselves on a daily basis to reduce the amount of dirt and debris that could be spread throughout your home.
  6. Isolate the Work Area – Finally, your contractors will also keep the work area isolated as they perform the renovations around your home. To accomplish this, they’ll affix plastic sheeting over doorways to seal off a room or area from the rest of the house.
