Bedroom Colors That Our Interior Designers Love

You don’t have to be an expert interior remodeling contractor to understand the importance of choosing the right color for your bedroom. Color is one of the most effective ways to set the mood of a room. It can stimulate appetites in the kitchen and dining area, inspire productivity in a home office and create a haven for rest and relaxation in a master bedroom.

With dozens of hues and hundreds of shades to choose from, selecting color can be one of the trickiest parts of a bedroom remodeling project. Our design experts have a few tips to get you started.

Violet Reactions

Deep violet might seem a good choice for your bedroom walls, but light and playful lavender could be a more suitable compromise. This shade evokes a feeling of luxury and elegance but is still relaxing, perfect for a home renovation that involves the bedroom. Complement it with neutral tones to avoid creating a setting that is too stimulating to the senses.

Colors of Nature

Shades of green make for an ideal bedroom hue, inspiring thoughts of lush greenery. Green is a neutral color that can both be warm and inviting as well as cool and relaxing, depending on how you complement it with other furnishings in the room. Traditional homes tend to work well with green accents but modern and contemporary designs can find ways to use this versatile color too.

Other Color Options

Red and yellow are ideal for stimulating conversations, lively socializing and appetites. This is why you should avoid using these colors in your bedroom. If you are set on using them, however, select muted shades of yellow and red to dull down the energy.
