Before DreamMaker
Back in 1998, Curt Trampe started a small business, catering to homeowners who required a general handyman. The business grew to include a team of 10 employees who handled a wide variety of projects. However, Curt realized that he needed to tweak his business to elevate it further. He decided to become a DreamMaker franchisee.
Curt says, “DreamMaker was attractive to me because they focused exclusively on kitchen and bathroom remodeling, which was appealing after my previous unspecialized business experience. This reduced scope of work and specialization also led to the potential for higher margins and profit compared to my previous business. The fact that there were systems already set up to follow and a business process that was repeatable was also very valuable to me.”
Lessons Learned
Curt has learned three things from partnering with DreamMaker: the importance of every member working on your team, asking for help from others and learning from their experience, and that a DreamMaker remodel is the best choice in terms of owning a remodeling business.
