You’ll need approximately 60 square feet per employee to create a functional open workspace floorplan. For partitioned workspaces, you’ll need around 80 to 100 square feet per employee.
You’ll also need to consider your executive offices. These days, more companies are opting for an open office environment to break down the walls associated with hierarchies. However, executive offices are still necessary for those who frequently participate in confidential discussions. Executive offices are generally 150 to 250 square feet in size. Consider Space for Conference Rooms
Determine the average number of employees who participate in work conferencing. Each employee will need 25 to 30 square feet of space in the room. Break Rooms & Common Spaces
The kinds of common spaces you include depend on your budget, number of employees and your industry. These spaces are typically between 125 to 200 square feet and can accommodate at least two employees. Meanwhile, a 200- to 300-square-foot reception area can accommodate six to eight guests.
