Your Room-by-Room Aging-in-Place Checklist

Aging-in-place is defined as the ability live in your own home and community independently, comfortably and safely, regardless of ability, age or income level. It’s a concept easy enough to understand but one that is not always easy to execute. If you or your loved one is considering aging-in-place, it’s important to make sure your home will be properly equipped to address your needs, especially if you have plans for family room additions or other remodeling work.

To help you get started, here’s a simple room-by-room checklist from DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen of Elizabethtown:

  • Install adjustable pull-down shelving or similar storage solutions for safe access to upper cabinets
