Creative Tips to Display Art in Your Home

DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen of Central Texas understands that part of your home remodeling project includes sprucing up your interior. It can be as simple as adding framed artwork to an empty wall, but if you want your pieces to stand out, here are some creative ways to display them.

Grouping

This is a technique that uses smaller art pieces grouped together to create one large focal point. This works especially well when the pieces are from the same collection or similar to each other in some way. They can share similarities such as color, type of media or any other characteristic that connects them. By grouping similar art pieces together, you create a focal point and rhythm in the room they’re displayed in.

Picture Shelves

One way to fill empty space is to display artwork and prints by lining them up on shelves. This technique is one of the most popular ways to present art in any interior as it’s an organic and simple approach to displaying artwork while also being a bit unexpected, compared to hanging frames on the wall.

Pedestals

By placing small 3D art pieces on pedestals, they’ll stand out more. This technique is more commonly used in rooms where people gather or pass through, such as the living room and the foyer, but if it’s thought out carefully, a small art piece on a pedestal can be a great design element in certain bathroom designs.

You can find different kinds of pedestals in most furniture stores, and having one in your home will help bring more interest to your 3D art pieces by bringing them closer to eye level. They can be as simple as a wood stump (if you’re going for something more organic) or as minimalistic and industrial as a metal cylindrical pillar.
