Lee helped found DreamMaker Ann Arbor in 2004. Since then he has been directly involved in nearly every aspect of the business. As co-owner with his wife Brenda, Lee works to create a place where his employees thrive as they improve the lives and homes of DreamMaker clients. He is proud that it has grown over the years into a company that truly lives up to its mission: creating great environments for great people; both employees and customers. When he is not working, Lee enjoys mission work, traveling with his wife and family, fishing, and all things aviation-related! He has been a private pilot since the age of 17 and enjoys flying his plane when the weather is nice (a rarity in Michigan). The rest of the year, you can find him in the shop driving rivets on the plane he is building.
With over 25 years of accounting experience, her attention to detail, her cost-consciousness, and high level of integrity, Brenda is the right fit for DreamMaker’s accounting and human resources roles. She enjoys providing timely and relevant analysis and working with the team to grow the company. She has been happily married for almost 30 years and has two children in college. They live in a divided house because one attends Michigan State University, and one attends the University of Michigan. Outside of work, she enjoys working out, traveling, and mission work.
With more than two decades of marketing and event planning experience, including strategy and digital media, Shannon joined DreamMaker in February 2019. She loves to show and tell the stories of our highly satisfied clients, and enjoys finding new ones. She is an Eastern Michigan grad, has been married for 14 years, and they have two active kids and a crazy Australian Cattledog. Shannon likes to watch Michigan State football and the Detroit Tigers. When she’s not doing that, she enjoys writing, reading, watching movies, and supports the March of Dimes in any way she can.
As a native of the Ann Arbor area, with a degree in Interior Design from Eastern Michigan University, Betty has over 20 years of experience in the local remodeling industry, concentrating on kitchens and baths. She enjoys helping clients achieve their dream of a beautiful space with lots of functionality. Her experience allows her to help guide clients through the decision making and design process effortlessly. When not at work, Betty loves spending time with her husband and two spoiled cats, quilting, reading, and gardening. She also travels as often as possible to Seattle to visit her two grown sons.
Kami is a vintage-furniture-loving mom to two rambunctious kids. Her red hair, eyebrow piercing and tattoos let people know that she believes the design process should first and foremost be fun. Her approach is to maximize the function of the space, while making it “sexy,” as she likes to say. She moved to Ann Arbor in 1997 to attend the University of Michigan, where she earned her BFA in Sculpture. She later attended Eastern Michigan University for an MS in Interior Design. Kami is proud of her geekiness, and brings a high level of genuine creativity to her clients. Her inspired designs have earned numerous awards and features on Houzz.
Marde has been re-creating spaces ever since she can remember. But her parents did not share their eight-year-old’s enthusiastic suggestions for remodeling their home. Eventually she chose to obtain a bachelor’s degree to pursue Interior Design professionally, because she realized she could never own enough homes to satisfy all of the styles that appealed to her. Living more than 18 years on the west coast gives Marde a unique perspective on design. She creates fresh and exciting spaces that work fluidly with the clients’ needs, which in turn reinforces her dedication to her craft – and her award-winning designs are evidence of that passion.
Sean has over 21 years of experience, seven of those with DreamMaker. When he is not working, he is at the ice rink five days a week for his childrens’ hockey teams, and enjoys custom cars and camping.
Ryan is an experienced carpenter with 15 years experience working in the home remodeling field. He’s been with DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen in Ann Arbor for over 10 years, and says what he loves most about his job is being a part of a company that treats employees like family. In his free time, he’s always working on his own home, playing golf, or watching movies.
Gerry has 24 years experience and it shows in his quick and thorough craftsmanship. He’s spent more than 5 years at DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen and says it’s the “good people” that makes being a DreamTeam member so great. In his spare time, he enjoys football, family and shooting guns.
Dave has 25 years experience and 10 of those have been spent with DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen in Ann Arbor. When Dave isn’t building and putting together the best kitchens and baths in Ann Arbor, he is golfing and spending time with his family. He also seems to spend a lot of time on US-23 during road construction; so much so, that he listed it as a hobby!
Matt has become a vital part of the team. When he’s not working, he likes to golf, fish, and work on his truck.
John has been in this industry for five years, but made the switch to DreamMaker because “I’ve seen how well DreamMaker treats their employees.” John is engaged to “an amazing fiancée,” and together they have a dog and a cat. He says his grandfather is his best friend/father figure. Outside of work, he likes to watch sports, play video games, and jiu jitsu, where he likes doing some “friendly sparring.”
Phil is that quintessential “Jack of All Trades.” His varied experience in printing, auto body work, farming, and construction makes him the guy we go to with our weird questions. Phil also teaches at the local community college, is a scratch bowler, and likes to work on his Fords.
Tammy has been in the design industry for 17 years. She enjoys being “the fun aunt” in her large extended family. She likes to attend live music events or doing outdoor activities when she’s not at work — snowboarding, kayaking, or hiking. Tammy says she also loves to laugh, so she encourages everyone to share their jokes. She says, “What I like about DreamMaker is that it’s a team filled with great people, and I’m in a role that will grow my career.”
Marsha graduated from South Lyon High School, and studied interior design at Eastern Michigan University. While attending school, Marsha snagged a job specializing in residential bathroom design. By graduation, she was designing kitchens as well.
A few years later, Marsha saw that South Lyon was in need of more options for design and remodeling. She took a leap of faith and started a business from her kitchen table with a laptop and a software program.
Seven years later, Exquisite Kitchen Designs was busier than ever, so she decided that being part of the DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen family, alongside her husband, Matt – would give her more time to do what she loved, without the responsibility of all the backend business needs as well.
When she’s not designing gorgeous interiors, Marsha can be found at various sporting events with her three young children, working out, and supervising the construction of their new home.
Macy grew up in a small town, on a farm, and outside of work, she enjoys working out, DIY projects like rehabbing old furniture, spending time with her husband, and playing with their two dogs. She also says that “the atmosphere, location, and opportunity of DreamMaker all appealed to me.”
Having been a professional accountant for eight years before taking time out from her career to raise her two children, Debra is thrilled to join the DreamMaker team.
Her nature-loving family enjoys playing outdoors. They are guardians to a dog, a cat, a horse, and to countless wild creatures that visit their home in the woods. Debra finds additional fulfillment in her roles as a Stephen Minister at First Presbyterian in Saline, and as a volunteer with Free Mom Hugs. She also enjoys reading and writing when time allows.
As a former wrestler at Olivet College, “Dom” says he is very goal-driven and tries to do his best at everything. After work, he likes to watch various sports, including football and basketball, and likes to kayak and play cornhole. He also spends time with his girlfriend Samantha and his two dogs, Koda and Dutches. “What appealed to me about DreamMaker was the ability to create custom projects for customers. I also like that they are family-oriented and very welcoming to new employees.”
Travis Johnson comes to us with 10+ years of experience, looking to learn even more about the kitchen and bath remodeling industry. In his spare time, he likes to bowl, and go fishing and golfing.
Scott Lauffer is our Customer Relations Coordinator. Scott has been doing this kind of work for 7 years, and said the close-knit feeling of the entire team — how it feels like a family — was what drew him to DreamMaker.
Scott has two kids, who he describes as “bright, devious, and incredibly kind.” Outside of the office, Scott likes to spend time outdoors: camping, kayaking, boating and hiking, and this influenced his interest in vintage recreational vehicles. He owns a 1967 Yellowstone Cavalier camper and a 1975 Century Raven 180 Runabout boat.
Rob retired from the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office after a 30-year career, in which he served in various roles. During that time, he also developed an interest in home improvement projects, and enjoyed doing renovation work for family and friends. Rob joined DreamMaker’s staff because of the team atmosphere. When he’s not working, Rob likes to spend time with his family and friends, and chips away at his ‘Honey-Do’ list.
Tiffany grew up in a small town with a passion for home design and love for city life. She loves to think outside the box, creating beautiful spaces that can be enjoyed for years to come. When Tiffany is not designing, she can be found spending time with her sons or with her family up north, enjoying the great outdoors.
Travis comes to us with two years of experience, and is fitting right in: “What I like about DreamMaker is that that they schedule jobs from start to finish, and don’t try to start several jobs at once. At home, I have three kids and two dogs, so it’s a little chaotic, but it’s a new #adventure every day. When I get home at night, I try to spend my time surrounded by #family. I also like to ride my motorcycle and learn new things!” Great to have you on board!
Shannon has worked elsewhere as a kitchen and bath designer for seven years, but said she “likes the supportive work culture and what DreamMaker stands for. Everything aligned with what I was looking for in a career.” Shannon is married and has two cats – but she says despite her obsession with them, anytime she sees other cats, she has to play with them. Outside of work, she loves to travel, and has been to quite a few international destinations, like Australia and Iceland. Her travel goal for the US is to visit all 50 states before she turns 40 – and she is already over halfway to that goal. She and her husband love the Detroit Tigers and attend games frequently during the season.
