Bathroom Ideas for People Who Hate Cleaning

Not everyone enjoys cleaning or has a housekeeper to handle the job. If you passionately hate cleaning the bathroom, there are ways to make things a whole lot easier on yourself.

As a bathroom remodeling company, we at DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen know a few ingenious ways you can play around with design to make your room’s maintenance so much easier. Whether you’re considering whether you can afford an entire bathroom remodeling job or pondering over the shower installation cost, your design choices will impact you every day.

Designs for Cleaning Made Easy

  • Out with grout. No one likes scrubbing grout lines, especially when they’re covered with stubborn scum and mold. To eliminate the need for grout lines, opt for stone slabs that have few seam lines. Another alternative is to use large-format tile (some are as large as 24 inches by 48 inches) in lieu of small tiles.

  • Use vinyl wall coverings that can easily be wiped down with a sponge to bring texture or pattern to your space.

  • Say “no” to glass. Avoid using a glass shower enclosure and consider a slab countertop for a low-maintenance bathroom.

  • Get everything off the floor. A wall-mounted toilet is designed to be easier to reach all the way around. This will make cleaning the floor easier, as well.

  • Water and soap residue typically collect at the base of deck-mounted faucets. Why not get wall-mounted faucets instead? They’ll keep your counters clear and make them easier to wipe down.
