Interior Paint Color Trends for 2022

Isn’t it time for some fresh air? This year, home remodel experts predict a design landscape saturated with colors that make us feel good. Blues, greens and earth tones feel soothing and point us toward an optimistic future.

Refreshing your interior with a new coat of paint is a great way to start. But which paint samples should you buy and what are the paint trends for 2022? DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen of Central Texas shares some insights here.

Colors of the Year

1. Aleutian by Sherwin-Williams

This paint color evokes feelings of calm and peace. The blue-gray color has a warm undertone, so it works well in kitchens, living rooms and bedrooms. Pair it with off-white, warm tan or dusty slate tones from the Sherwin-Williams collection, then enhance Aleutian’s cozy vibe with lots of texture and natural wood tones.

2. Breezeway by Behr

With its chilly undertones and gentle, silvery-green hue, Behr’s Breezeway has the shimmering quality of sea glass. There are many ways to incorporate the color into your decor, from casual to coastal to modern or vintage, depending on your personal taste. Breezeway is a wonderful option because it’s neither too saturated nor too dark.

3. Laurel Leaf by Better Homes & Gardens

This hazy green color is inspired by eucalyptus leaves and demonstrates the renewed desire to bring nature into homes. Cozy beige, light to medium wood tones, and leafy house plants go well with Laurel Leaf. Use it to create a soothing ambiance in your bedroom or a focused environment in your home office. In a dining area, it can provide an elegant backdrop of subtle color.

4. October Mist by Benjamin Moore

October Mist is the ideal base color for experimenting with brighter hues in a home renovation. It is one of 14 colors included in Benjamin Moore’s 2022 color palette, which is comprised of primary hues and other picks inspired by nature and personal traditions.

5. Babouche No.223 by Farrow & Ball

Despite its vivid shade, Babouche isn’t overpowering, making it ideal for a bigger space. This buttery yellow can help brighten an area with limited natural light and pairs well with a pastel blue or a delicate pink or red.

6. Bright Skies by Dulux

Reflecting a trend towards bright colors and light tones, Dulux is described as an airy, light blue. This year, bold hues and light tones are making a comeback, possibly reflecting our need for optimism and a new perspective.
