Alternatively, consider walk-in bathtubs, which generally have the same footprint as shower enclosures. Walk-in bathtubs and are designed for use by persons with limited mobility. This can be a worthy upgrade if you’re planning to spend your senior years in the same house.
5. Wall-Mount Everything — Most bathroom fixtures, cabinets and shelves can be wall-mounted, which lets you maximize the use of your bathroom’s vertical space. It exposes more floor area, which makes the bathroom look more spacious and makes it easy to keep clean. It also gives your bathroom a more contemporary look. As an added bonus, you’re less likely to stub your toes on furniture.
