How Retirees Can Create a New 'Look' in Their Homes

As baby boomers begin to retire and stay in their current home – instead of purchasing a new one in a challenging economy – they will focus on home improvement options, says Doug Dwyer, president and CSO of DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen.

 

A recent article on MSN.com noted that sales are up at major home improvement chains and interior designers say many of their clients are interested in trying home improvement projects. Coincidentally, retirees will be spending their time analyzing what improvements are lurking under their roofs, Dwyer said.

The full-service interior remodeling company is honoring National Cleaning Week, held from March 23rd to 29th, by proving that any living space can be instantly refreshed with some basic remodeling alternatives.

Amy Brown Named Vice President of Franchise Support and Administration
Amy Brown has been promoted to vice president of franchise support and administration for DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen, one of the nation’s leading remodeling franchises.
 
Brown has been with DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen since 2001 and has overseen national advertising, marketing and communications efforts with a growing staff of five associates to support the franchise network. She was promoted to director of marketing in 2005.

As I thought about what to write in this month's column, I began to think about the core of every business: the customer. Think about your past customers. How have they helped your business? Of course, they have contributed to your sales objectives, but I recommend you think of them as a customer for life, which can create a win-win relationship. If you do a quality remodel and give them a great customer experience, then they can become your biggest marketing ally.

Doug Dwyer Named Certified Franchise Executive at National Convention
Doug Dwyer, president and chief stewarding officer of DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen, was conferred with the widely recognized designation of Certified Franchise Executive (CFE) at the International Franchise Association’s 49th Annual Convention recently held in San Diego. “This is a wonderful honor and a great program, and I’m proud to be among a network of peers who represent the best in the business across the franchising spectrum,” said Dwyer, who oversees one of the nation’s leading remodeling franchises. “The Institute of Certified Executives has done an incredible job to provide training and education for franchise executives that help us in achieving our highest goals.”

Witte Wins Regional Contractor of the Year Award

DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen of Colorado Springs, associated with The Remodeler, has received a regional Contractor of the Year (CotY) award from the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) for a residential bathroom priced under $30,000. This is the second year in a row the business has won a top award in the prestigious design competition.

 

NARI’s annual CotY Awards were established in 1997 to foster a sense of pride and accomplishment among its members and to increase public awareness of NARI professionals. Entries are judged on their use of craftsmanship, problem solving, aesthetics and innovation.
